Ark Teacher Training is a leading professional development programme run by Ark, a respected London-based education charity. Designed for trainee and early career teachers, the programme gives educators the practical skills, knowledge, and support they need to genuinely thrive in the classroom. Ark had already refreshed their brand across their wider network but their teacher training website was the last piece of the puzzle, and it was starting to show. This project was completed during my time as lead web designer and developer at Mary Agency.
The challenge
Following a brand refresh across Ark's wider network, the teacher training site had become the odd one out. Visually inconsistent, outdated, and disconnected from the rest of their digital presence, it wasn't reflecting the quality of the programme it represented. The UX/UI design needed a complete rethink prospective trainees were struggling to navigate the application process, and there was no clear journey guiding them from interest to action.

The solution was a full redesign and redevelopment built to align with Ark's refreshed brand identity while significantly improving the experience for the people who matter most: prospective teachers.
The web design put the application journey front and centre. Every page was restructured to reduce friction, improve clarity, and guide visitors naturally toward taking the next step. Content was reorganised so that the right information reached the right people at the right moment without them having to search for it.
The web development in WordPress delivered a fast, reliable, fully on-brand platform that slots seamlessly into Ark's wider digital ecosystem. The result speaks for itself a sharp rise in teacher training applications, a consistent brand experience across the entire Ark network, and a website that finally does justice to a programme that's genuinely changing lives.
